A Pair of William Wheatland Retford Windsor Chairs in Yew
A Good Pair of Windsor Chairs in Yew wood with Elm Seats by William Wheatland, these chairs would have been made while William was working from the town of Retford before his move to Rockley to set up a workshop and build a Methodist chapel there, they have the crinolin stretchers and a scratch carved line around the edge of the seat and back hoop, also the back spindles are mortised right through the seat Williams hall mark for Retford made chairs.
The condition is excelent with a pleasing colour and patina.
