Ackworth Quaker School Sampler Lydia Ladd 1806
A Very Rare Quaker School Medalion Sampler By Lydia Ladd. Lydia was born in 1793, her Father William Ladd (d 1798) and her Mother Elizabeth Ladd (d1794) William was a Maltster living in Henley on Thames. Lydia was Pupil number 2349 at the Famous Ackworth in Yorkshire Quaker School, she was enroled into the school after her Fathers death and left in 1806 aged 13. This Monochrome sampler is very interesting using the Token of Love symbol with letters of the alphabet scattered at random around the sampler it also depicts the usual swan and love birds, but not the squirrel, the birds eye maple frame is 19th century, The condition of this rare sampler is excellent
