Ash and Elm Windsor Chair Rockley Maker
A Good 19th century low back Windsor Chair in Ash with an Elm seat, it has the crinolin stretcher typical of the chairs made in the tiny hamlet of Rockley just south of Retford, Notts. Rockley is famous for the high quality of chairs made there between 1828 and 1870, this chair would have been made c 1840 by George Nicholson or Fred Walker, the condition is excellent with a pleasing colour and patina
