Yew Wood Low Windsor by William Wheatland Rockley

An Attractive early 19 century low back Windsor chair in Yew Wood with an Elm seat and Ash legs, it was made by William Wheatland from his new workshop in the tiny hamlet of Rockley on the old great north road just south of Retford, he was working there betwean 1822 and 1830, he was a methodist lay preacher and built the chapel in this village at the same time. The chair is in good condition with a pleasing colour and patina.
